Bowling Green (1-4, 0-1 MAC) comes into the game having lost to Eastern
Michigan, 28-25, in its conference opener last week. Of their four
losses, the 28 points surrendered is actually the lowest total Bowling
Green’s allowed. The week prior the Falcons gave up 77 points to
Memphis—their second time giving up 77 points this season after a 77-10
loss to Ohio State in their season opener. Running back Fred Coppet also
had his best game against the Eagles, rushing for 141 yards and his
first two touchdowns of 2016.

In four years as head coach, Meyer has amassed a 50-4 record, and has an 85 percent career win percentage which all started with two seasons at Bowling Green, where Meyer went 17-6 overall. Bowling Green is coming off a 10-4 season, but will be directed by a new head coach in Mike Jinks, who is replacing Dino Babers following the latter’s departure for Syracuse.
Last year’s game saw Bowling Green rout the Bobcats, 62-24. Quarterback Matt Johnson threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns for the Falcons, while running back Travis Greene added 106 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. The win extended Bowling Green’s winning streak over Ohio to four.
